May/June Recap

In no particular order:

With a huge revamp of the gymnastics program in Australia...Kaiya skipped a level and competed Level 7 this year. Competition season also changed to the beginning of the year so she didn't have much of a break between last year and this year's season. She had another great year and some amazing coaches. We feel so lucky to have been a part of such a great gym.
One last churro run with her gym friends- love those goofy gals!
When you find yourself at the gym so often over the years...you end up becoming friends with the moms of the gymnasts too.
When we found out about moving we knew Louie would need a new home. Luckily, one of Mina's classmates wanted him. Oddly enough, his name is Louie-Victor...it was fate. The girls had one last cuddle before he was taken to his new home.
Louie, all packed up for his new adventure.
For FHE, we made a paper chain countdown for our remaining days in Perth...it was amazing how fast our seemingly long chain dwindled into nothing.
My sous chef- every time I'm cooking/baking she climbs up on the counter to help (and taste test)!
My AWC farewell dinner. These ladies were an amazing support over the last 5.5 years!
My friend Becca and I planned to make a mutual friend a quilt for her 40th birthday in July...but when we both found out we were moving (Becca to Vietnam, me to USA)...well we hustled and quilted this beauty:
After finding out about our upcoming move we knew we had to treasure every last Perth sunset. So instead of going home to make dinner...we ran to the beach to enjoy a play in the park and a sunset.
I put my non-existent wood working skills to work and built a marri table top. Marri is an Australian hardwood found only in Western Australia. This photo was taken after my first day in the wood shop.
And this is a photo of the completed table top before it was packed up for the sea shipment.
One last visit to Pinnaroo Cemetery to see some wild kangas!
