September:
Super Hero Day at school...so convenient as the girls had asked to be super heroes for Halloween so I had already bought the fabric in Utah...just had to make sure the costumes were finished a month early.
Kaiya's last competition of the season- Spring State Championships. This year she competed Level 5. The two previous meets she placed 6th overall. This meet saw some improvement...she placed 4th overall and won state champ on beam. Here she is on the podium receiving her 1st place medal- she looks thrilled...
Kaiya with her coach and teammates. Such a great group of girls (Kaiya's been with some of them for 4 years now)...sadly, the squad has been separated and moved into 2 separate groups for this coming year. Kaiya's now training in the Level 7-10 group.
Messing around with pillows
Mina is proud of this mask she made in art at school.
October:
Checking out a new playground at King's Park- called Variety Place:
The girls loved this swing that fit all 4 of them.
Every general conference I pull out this hexagon blanket I've been crocheting every since moving to Perth. I always mean to work on it more...but it always gets forgotten about until another 6 months go by and it's general conference again. Needless to say, it's finally big enough to cover Mei...I wonder how many more conferences will go by until it's a full-size blanket?
Emiko went to her Year 3 school camp at Lansdale Farm. It was her first time going to an overnight camp and she loved it. This pic is of her with some of her classmates.
Brian took the 3 older girls whale watching...but it was rescheduled due to high winds. So they ended up exploring Fremantle instead. They went on the ferris wheel and to the Round House (oldest public building in Western Australia, used for a time as a jail):
Strawberry picking as a family. The kids probably ate more than they put in the tray but we ended up w/quite a bit in the end.
Mei prepared for rain inside the house.
Ward trunk-or-treat. We had 7 cars total. Quite different than American trunk-or-treats. So many Aussies are opposed to Halloween, thinking it's a satanic/devil-worshipping holiday...we keep trying to tell them it's just a day to wear a costume and get tons of candy...but alas, only 7 cars.
Had to include a pic of Mei in her costume as there's not an individual one of her above in the Super Hero Day pic:
