First thing upon arriving in Queenstown was to hit up the gondola and luge b/c it was beautiful weather that afternoon. The view is pretty cool and the kids are cute too.
At the top (end of the gondola ride)...view is spectacular. Lake Wakatipu is gorgeous...and massive.
Time to ride the luge...up the ski lift...don some sexy helmets...and down we ride!
After luging (is that a word?) the girls noticed this bench...and insisted on a photo. Love their crazy poses. They then managed to sucker us into buying them massive quantities of jelly belly's.
Queenstown Pier...along the water front.
Hands down this was Mei's favorite part of Queenstown. A bucket swing at the holiday park we stayed at. She was in this bucket every spare moment. We couldn't complain...it was nice always knowing where she was.
A model of the jet boat ride we went on- more on that in a future post.
We went on a lake cruise aboard the TSS Earnslide- the steamboat took us to Walter Peak.
Sitting on the boat. You may start to notice Emi and Mina always posing with their stuffed pet kiwis. Those (stupid) kiwi birds had to accompany us everywhere the rest of the trip...and then were promptly forgotten upon returning home. Go figure. The reason I bring this up? We were sitting here on the boat when Mei hucked one of the kiwi's off the boat. Mina started to freak out but luckily it landed on a ledge instead of the water and we were able to retrieve it before the boat left. We sat inside the rest of the time. That was kind of ridiculous story to share- sorry.
Lakefront dining at Walter Peak. Easily one of the best meals we had all trip. It was a BBQ buffet lunch. Usually buffets are meh. But this one was yumm-o. A side note: don't eat Mexican in New Zealand- it's gross. We learned that the hard way the night before.
