Lake Te Anau...as you can see, it was a cold/rainy day. Luckily, it was our only rainy day...and even then it was only raining off & on.
We took a ferry ride across Lake Te Anau to go to the Glow worm caves. The glow worms were amazing! Did you know that adult glow worms have no mouth so they only have a couple days to mate before dying of starvation?! Anyways...unfortunately, cameras aren't allowed in the caves...so no photos! But here's a pic of the shoreline by the caves. Google "glow worms" and learn something!
The drive between Te Anau and Milford Sound. It's very slow going in a campervan as there's lots of twists and turns...and hills. At one point I asked Brian "are we gonna make it?" Brian replied "oh yeah, we've got a diesel engine- we'll make it...just not very fast." We stopped quite a bit to stretch and take photos- lots and lots of beautiful scenery (mountains, waterfalls, etc). Loved how this photo turned out- Mei's tiger looks like it's blowing smoke (it's a cloud)!
More scenery shots:
We made it to Milford Sound! We did a Milford Sound cruise...a lot of scenery pics will commence now:
On the boat- Mei goofing off
Brian & Mei on the top deck of the boat
Mina & Mei got "bored" of the scenery and opted to hang out underneath the tables on the boat.
We saw seals!
Kaiya & a waterfall
