Oh...we did some other fun things too during our last remaining bit of summer before school started.
Obviously, lots and lots of pool time. The only reason you'd ever want to go outside during summer in Houston is to swim b/c unless you're in the water, it's miserable. Mei rocks the goggles even when she doesn't put her face in the water.
Emiko got a budgie- his name is Owen. And I stayed busy all August painting 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This gradient yellow wall just about did me in- glad it's done!
A close up of Emi and Owen. He's a really pretty bird (I just made you think of Dumb & Dumber with my "pretty bird" remark, didn't I?)
4-wheeling with the Frosts. One of the best things about moving back is being able to hang out with the Frost family again!
Lots of furniture shopping happened in July/August. You can't tell we're at a furniture store here...but we are. This store caters to kids...playground, animals, a big mattress jumping pad, and a random bear...
If you train more than 15 hrs/wk for a sport outside of school, you can apply for off-campus PE credit (and not have to take PE at school). Kaiya had to have her coach fill out the application...and well looky there...apparently Kaiya is training for Olympic-level competition! (Yeah, that's not really happening...but it's a nice thought.)
Dibb Saltwater Croc Day- presents all ready to go
We did laundry this summer too- seems there was more play than folding going on that day.
Mina found out the hard way that Texas requires more vaccinations than Western Australia. She needed two more shots before she could register for school- not a happy girl here.
Mina lost a tooth while she slept and couldn't ever find it. We concluded that she must've swallowed it. She had to write the tooth fairy explaining the dilemma.
We drove to Austin for the day to spend time w/the Harvey family and see their new bub! And eat yummy Gourdough donuts...
Then we drove out to San Antonio and went to the big animal safari park- this zebra was friendly (ok, he was hungry and knew we had food)
No trip to San Antonio is complete without a trip to Sea World. Mei's first ride on Shamu Express. She looks happy here b/c this photo was taken before the ride began. She didn't look like this after the ride ended.
