The 1st week in August I went on a girls trip to Sydney for Time Out for Women! I got to hang out with my awesome friend & former BYU rookie, Katie...as well as a bunch of ladies from my current ward in Perth. In addition to TOFW, there was lots of eating, shopping, and sightseeing! Fun weekend...
Me & Niki with the Sydney Opera House as our backdrop (Niki and I used to be in the same ward in Houston...and now she's in the same ward in Perth- small world!)
Another shot of the opera house during daylight
Kaiya at one of her competitions. At this one she placed 2nd all-around. Her last meet was scheduled on a Sunday...after a lot of back and forth we were able to switch her to a different session (Friday) but b/c she was competing against girls in a different age group her scores weren't allowed to count...even though she was competing against girls in an older age bracket. Her coach was able to give us her scores though- she would've placed 2nd all-around again! She has one more competition this Saturday...
Our last dinner w/the Johnson's- we already miss Josh and Amy so much! Mina especially misses Josh- they were the best of buddies (love the face she's making in this pic).
Book Week at school. Mina was a mermaid, Emi was the girl from Stripes, and Kaiya dressed like Elmer, the patchwork elephant.
Kaiya made her first batch of bread! We had sliders for dinner that night- yum...
School cross-country run. Kaiya placed 1st in her age group for the girls, Mina placed 2nd, and Emiko made it to the finish line.
And that sums up what we've been up to the last month or so!
