The next morning we were up and going again by 7 am. We visited Shobak Castle- a crusader castle. It's mostly ruins now but still fun to explore. The tour guide at the castle actually lived in this castle when he was a kid. No squatters live here now.
There is an amazing underground tunnel 375 steps down. If we had more time, we could've walked through it with the guide.

The must-do item on our list was float in the Dead Sea. Our driver stopped at a lookout so we could take photos. The salt crystal formations are so cool.
You know the Bible story of Lot's wife turning into a pillar of salt? Locals joke that this rock formation is Lot's wife:
Definitely no hubbly bubbly...actually, I learned that hubbly bubbly really is a thing- it is a pipe used for smoking tobacco.
The dead sea from the resort.
Mudding up and floating in the Dead Sea. Floating is the weirdest sensation. It's hard to force your legs down. If you try to go into a standing position, you'll only sink down up to your chest. And I got the tiniest bit of water in my eye- ouch- it stung! I really want to bring the kids here someday (not to get salty water in their eyes, but to float).
After that it was a mad dash to the airport to catch our flight home. It was a great weekend away!
