Other highlights from April/May...lots of photos coming your way...

We celebrated JP's birthday. JP has some food allergies (no eggs, dairy, or gluten) so it was a goal of ours to make him a birthday cake he can eat. We had a taste test of 3 different cakes.

Brian took Mina to Dubai for a daddy-daughter weekend away. One of the places they went to was the Burj Khalifa- the tallest building in the world.

Kaiya turned 14!

5th grade band concert

I think I mentioned that Brian has a motorcycle called a Unicorn- no joke- anyways, we have a bunch of friends that are also Unicorn owners. I went out to dinner with the "unicorn gang"- Brian couldn't go b/c he already promised Kaiya and her friends a trip to Bahrain to watch a movie.

E*ster outfits.

Kaiya had a joing bday party with 2 of her friends- we went to the sand dunes, roasted hot dogs, and sand boarded. Loads of fun- but already wicked hot in late April!

Emiko turned 11

Kaiya at her regionals swim meet. She did awesome. She qualified for nationals but we decided not to go...maybe next year if she qualifies again.

Emiko was super nervous but was able to pull off an amazing recital piano performance.

Farewell dance- for all of the 8/9th grade kids that are leaving Dhahran Middle School and heading to either boarding school or the international high school off-camp. Kaiya was accepted to high school at the international school and will start in Sept. This was her first formal dance.

The parents are invited to the beginning of the dance...and the parent/child dance is the first dance of the night.

Seriously, have you seen anything cuter? Mei came home with this outfit as a gift from another parent in Mei's class...all kids got an outfit for the Ramadan season.

I'm sorry that this was not a witty post...this was a spit it out as fast as you can post b/c there's so much more I still need to blog to catch up...and I'm once again falling again at the computer. Jet lag is totally kicking my butt this year! Off to bed...
